I've just said to DH that the journalists will be rushing around trying to find the first person.

notevenat20 · 07/12/2020 21:13

They definitely will!

Do we know where it is going to be

StealthPolarBear · 07/12/2020 21:36

I've just read on twitter that they will be kept anonymous but it will be a health care worker.
If it helps it won't be me :)

TwoDirections · 07/12/2020 21:37

Ooh it's excited

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2020 07:03

Well I was wrong on both counts :) it's a 90 year old (I am assuming isn't a health care worker) named Margaret.
Well done Margaret!

Oodlesofnoodles20 · 08/12/2020 07:05

Margaret Kenan is patient A. First person in the world to have it. Well done Margaret!!!
She looks amazing for 90 too, only stopped work 4 years ago!

Oodlesofnoodles20 · 08/12/2020 07:06

@StealthPolarBear well that narrows it down 😂

SprogletsMum · 08/12/2020 07:07

Haven't loads of people already had it as part of the trials?

Ifailed · 08/12/2020 07:09

over 43,000 people have already have been vaccinated in the trials.

StealthPolarBear · 08/12/2020 07:15

That's true. So she's the first person to have it as part of the programme.

TheRuleofStix · 08/12/2020 07:17

I was just going to say she definitely isn’t the first person to have it! That’s what vaccine trials are for Shock.

Bagelsandbrie · 08/12/2020 07:18

Wow Margaret looks amazing for 90!

Mybedislisting · 08/12/2020 07:22

Go on lass! I admit I choked back a tear, wonderful to know this marvellous piece of science is going to protect that lovely lady and us all eventually

Cygne · 08/12/2020 07:30

They were announcing on the radio this morning at around 6.30 that the first vaccine was imminent and that it would be a hospital patient. Apparently a number of hospitals were hoping to be the first. I feel sorry for all the patients, waking up to find a nurse hanging over them, syringe at the ready, desperate to get in first.

Rabbitholebonkers · 08/12/2020 07:39

As a Coventrian I was so happy to wake up to today’s news.

Everyone is going bonkers as the second person was William Shakespeare from Warwickshire. Grin

Margaret doesn't look 90, apparently she only retired 4 years ago.
