Long Covid in teen?

DS14 had Covid in October. Relatively mild symptoms, although in the second week he suffered extreme fatigue and was completely uninterested in food for a few days. Then seemed to bounce back to normal by end Oct.

However, now 5 weeks further on, he is showing some very strange hyper-anxious behaviour. He is high functioning autistic anyway, but the behaviour changes in the last 7-10 days have been extreme.

Is there any chance this could be Covid linked? He is already under CAMHS, but struggling desperately to get an urgent appointment for him. School have said they are extremely concerned, and have reduced his attendance to just 2 hours a day (with a dedicated 121) while we try urgently to get him reviewed by CAMHS.

Has anyone heard of impacts like this?

I’ve heard of anxiety being associated with Long Covid but it may be worth joining one of the long Covid groups on Facebook and asking in there. I hope he’s back to his usual self soon and you are able to access some support for him in the meantime.

Is he still feeling physically unwell in any way that he can't express ? My autistic DD16 often just can't fathom what is happening to her physically sometimes and can't explain it ..she then displays high anxiety .
