Can I go and stay in Devon and Cornwall?

I live in a tier two area. Am I allowed to book an Airbnb for myself, DH and our one DC in Devon/Cornwall for a short break this month or next? Or are holidays still not allowed?

As I understand it you can’t travel to a different tier unless essential. Otherwise we could all go to Cornwall and they’d be bumped up to 2 before you know it !

I just googled and you can but you have to stick to tier 2 rules.

Thanks. I was actually planning to go and look at some properties (we’re moving for DH’s work) but the problem is, we’d have to stay overnight (we currently live up north!)

Yes, you can. Friends of mine are on holiday in Cornwall now. We are in tier 2.

Devon is tier 2. So yes.

Miltonkeynesmummy · 05/12/2020 07:52

Yes as long as you stick to tier 2 rules.

If it's fine for people from any tier to go on business meetings winter jollies/ski trips abroad and then return with no quarantine, I don't see why you can't stay overnight in Cornwall. Afterall, you're looking to move for business reasons. And, who knows. Some of the intentional business travellers might come from Devon or Cornwall. So it's not as if other people won't be travelling there from other places including tier 3 airports.

If you're sticking to Tier 2 rules, I'm not sure how you'd be able to look at houses? ( Genuinely not sure how this fits into the rules)
