For those who’ve had the virus....

So I had the virus, headache, loss of taste/smell, temperature and fatigue. It lasted around 5/6 days (apart from the taste/smell which is on going) went back to work Wednesday just gone, after 18 days isolating, as I felt much better after about day 8. The last two days though I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. I’m exhausted, feel like I have a temperature again and have had a similar headache though a milder version. I also have a tight chest and feel like I’m having to sigh a lot to get enough air.

I’ve slept an hour this afternoon and I’ve been ready for bed since 6:30. I have a sore throat. Has it come back? I felt fully well enough, plenty of energy, no temperature or cough, which is why I returned to work.
Will I just go through periods of exhaustion for a while or maybe I’ve just got the flu?
It’s very disheartening as I thought I’d dodged a bullet. Has anyone else had this return of symptoms after you thought it had gone?

How many days is it since you tested positive? Everyone in my house tested positive (except one) and the theme was definitely get better and then feel worse for a few days, a couple of people are still getting symptoms a month later

Symptoms started on the 16th, positive test on the 18th. So on the 19th day now. Felt great on days 9-16. Got loads done round the house and garden. All of us had it. My OH feels run down today too but I feel so ill again.

Lots of people seem to have had it like this. I'd think I was fine and then be poleaxed again. Took me about 6 weeks before I trusted that well meant well.

People have always reported it gets better before it gets worse, hope you get better soon.

I'm now about 8 weeks out and I still have moments of real fatigue but they are more isolated incidents now.

There's a very long tail of recovery for this illness. Very important to pace yourself in recovery. Have rest periods every day. (And remember that using your brain is every bit as depleting as useful your body.)

Ah thank you, it’s not just me then. I was worrying that something was wrong but it seems like it’s the nature of the virus. Bed early for me tonight.
