Anyone had a home Covid test collected from their home?

My home Covid test is due to be delivered today but as Im self isolating, i cant leave the house to return it via priority mailbox. Has anybody had tests collected from home? I can't seem to find any information on how to arrange this anywhere, apart from if you're in a care home. TIA for any help.

I did. I think the phone number was in the booklet that came with the kit.

If you are self isolating due to Covid symptoms you are allowed out to post the test back, but must not go anywhere else/see anyone.

If it's something else, there are instructions in the kit on how to organise.

You are able to to leave house to post in priority post box even if isolating. As long as you are careful.

I was told we could post it ourselves as long as we didn't use public transport.

Which I would have done if we could find our nearest priority postbox Hmm

I didn’t in the end, even though it was during lockdown when shielding was active and that was a category for which the collection service was provided

The instructions on how to arrange it are in the booklet which comes with the test

With mine (research study test) you had to book the courier slot before you did the test, do the swab the morning of the same day and put it in the fridge until the courier knocked on the door to collect it.

Chrimboo · 03/12/2020 06:27

I’ve done both.
As others have said, the details to book a collection (and when to do the test) are in the pack but you are allowed to drive or walk to a priority post box if you’re self isolating.
Do you need a courier collection though?

Thanks everyone. I didnt know that i was actually allowed to go out to post the test so I will just do that!

you book a return date and time, do your test to fit around that

Yes, but it was a research test. Had to book the courier before I did the test.
