Headache a sign?

My DS has Covid so we are currently isolating anyway, I've developed a banging headache today but no other symptoms. In my area you can only get a test if you have one of the three main symptoms.

Has anyone had a headache as a symptom and tested positive?

Yes a totally different headache that I’ve never experienced before and no amount of painkillers shifted it. It’s eventually eased after 2 weeks but my god it was draining.

Migraine, fever, burning eyes and tight pain across top of nose for a day, and kept having to nap - day 1. Cough came on day 3

@WhyNotMe40

Were they one sided or equal sided headaches?
Equal and all over like a hangover. Not one sided like when I have a 'normal' migraine

@YellowPostItPad actually no - she picked it up from her own child who was in the nursery class.

HarrietOh · 03/12/2020 10:32

I had a headache, day after I lost sense of smell so could then get tested. Those were the only 2 symptoms I had, the headache lasted about a week.

mistermagpie · 03/12/2020 10:44

Well I still have the banging sore head, couldn't sleep for it and painkillers haven't touched it, so I got tested this morning. It could be something else but I've been isolating for a week, WFH (so barely see anyone) and have been looking after DS who has Covid, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's positive.

It's no surprise really that Covid is so hard to keep under control when the symptoms can be such normal day to day annoyances: If I took a Covid test every time I had a headache I'd have 2-3 a week!

Bonsai49 · 03/12/2020 14:34

I had a 3 week headache at the start of March - only other symptoms chest pain shortness of breathe and fatigue ... tested negative for antibodies in the summer . I’m still convinced I had it - there was a long standing thread on here full of people with headaches and other symptoms . My husband had horrendous headaches and eye sight issues again negative for antibodies in the Autumn .

JEE87 · 17/12/2020 18:08

@mistermagpie just wondering if you tested positive?

Staffy1 · 17/12/2020 19:46

Also wondering? My DS has had to isolate because of school covid cases. DS has had a mild cough and dodgy throat/stomach for days. Both DH and I had headaches yesterday (I hardly ever have headaches) and while I feel ok today, DH now has cold symptoms. Waiting for results for DS.

WentworthPrison · 17/12/2020 21:35

Mine started with a really bad headache and feeling cold.

A day after I got temperature and took a test. Positive.

Day 3 - lost smell and taste and developed cough.

Shopaholic100 · 17/12/2020 22:29

DD had a severe head ache which lasted about 5 days as her symptom, loss of taste followed the headaches. She said it was really severe and not like anything she had felt previously also brain fog which meant she couldn’t remember what had happed 5 minutes ago.

Shopaholic100 · 17/12/2020 22:29

Loss of taste and minor cough have remained.

wakemeupwhenitssunny · 17/12/2020 22:48

2 of my household had aches and headache as first symptoms, we thought it was start of flu, loss of taster appeared for one of them a few days in, temp came on day 9 and upset stomach, he mentioned eyeballs hurting. Out of 3 positives in our household one had no symptoms and was fine but positive, 1 had headache and aches took a couple days then back to normal and third person is on day 11 and feeling dreadful still. I would get tested if you can. Good luck

Spudina · 17/12/2020 22:50

My colleagues only symptoms was headache.
