loss of smell

Could a very short lived loss of sense of smell be worthy of isolation/test? He was temporarily not able to smell Vicks and nail varnish but all better my morning?

I would get a test just to be sure. My friend lost her smell Saturday and went for a test. Her sense of smell came back in the Sunday evening so she was sure the test would be negative. Came back positive!
