Can't find the answer to this scenario

Last night before I went to bed i had a message to tell me from someone I know , that they have had to have a covid test yesterday.

This person has shown no symptoms .
They were in contact with the person thats tested positive for covid on Thursday. I saw them Friday. I was in close contact with this person due to work. I wear ppe mask visor etc.

All I can find on the Internet is that I dont have to self isolate unless the track and trace get in contact.
I've told my boss but we are both unsure what to do for the best. Do I stay off until this person gets the test results back ?
I've googled it but no straight answer for this scenario.

I would say you do not need to stay off. At this present time you have not been in contact with someone with a positive test, or symptoms.

No, you don't need to isolate now as the person is asymptomatic & not confirmed positive

If the person tests positive then even though you're a close contact, you took measures so should be at less risk. In this case, you also don't need to isolate but I'd personally be cautious & on symptom alert just in case.

If you use track & trace then that will base isolation decision on whether your friend calls you a close contact, probs irrelevant of PPE use. Bluetooth method is the same as that can pick up you've been near a positive case but it won't be able to determine you wore PPE
