Booked for test tomorrow but have to arrive by car

...and I don't have one.

Has this happened to anyone?
I'm booked for a Colonoscopy next week and have to have a test beforehand. Now that I'm looking closely at the instructions I see that you can't arrive on foot or by taxi.

What do I do? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cycle?

leasedaudi1 · 27/11/2020 18:22

Although that may not be comfortable for the return. You poor thing 😬

mooncakes · 27/11/2020 18:22

Cancel and rebook a home test.

missbipolar · 27/11/2020 18:24

@mooncakes I dont think you can really do a colonoscopy as a home test. OP speak to your GP or the hospital before cancelling about possible options

StatisticalSense · 27/11/2020 18:25

@missbipolar
The OP is on about needing a covid test prior to the colonoscopy rather than needing to arrive by car for that procedure.

Alternista · 27/11/2020 18:25

I assume OP means she has to have a covid test tomorrow ahead of her colonoscopy next week!

OP can anyone take you?

helloxhristmas · 27/11/2020 18:25

Home test or walk through test centre?

LilyPond2 · 27/11/2020 18:26

Have you been told you have to have your test at a specific place? If so, I would phone the hospital, explain that you don't have a car, and ask them what you should do.

MostIneptThatEverStepped · 27/11/2020 18:26

No one who can take me, not sure I can just book another test if I don't have symptoms?

OP posts:
MostIneptThatEverStepped · 27/11/2020 18:29

Trouble is I can't call the hospital because the scheduling team is only phoneable 9-5 Mon-Fri.

Lots of people at our hospital test centre in taxis for pre-procedure tests. Both in masks and passenger as far away from the driver as possible (back left seat).

FromTheAshes · 27/11/2020 18:36

There is a separate form for booking a hospital requested test, the link is on the main test booking page. Good luck op

olderthanyouthink · 27/11/2020 18:37

I've been told by someone at a test center to use a taxi Hmm

When's your hospital appointment? Is it's going to be tight just book a normal covid test at a walk through, no one checks what symptoms you have (because half the time they've gone by time you test!)

Cripesitsthegasman19 · 27/11/2020 18:56

They really won't let you get a taxi? My mum got a taxi to the hospital for her presurgery covid test.
