Talk me down off a covid anxiety ledge - does anyone else get like this?

I don’t know if I am alone in this but I am having another bout of covid anxiety as I call it.

I have my period and always get a headache so I have a headache. I am intolerant to dairy so I avoid it but whenever I eat it I get a flare up of my sinusitis and nasal drip so I’ve had to clear my throat a few times today.

While I have a totally rational explanation for why I’m feeling how I’m feeling - added into how I WFH full time and we are in lockdown so I’ve seen no one in two weeks I’m now on the verge of a full anxiety attack that I have covid.

What’s worse is due to a family emergency a family member is coming to mine to stay for a few days and now I am freaking out I will give her covid.

I don’t know if maybe it’s worse because she’s coming and that’s why I’ve convinced myself I have it. It’s just so stressful.

Does anyone else get like this? I’ve found during summer too when I would see a family member the minute I left I felt like I had a headache and a temperature and then start to panic I’ve given it to them all.

Just seen this - after searching to see if anyone else shares my covid anxiety! (This was after searching possible covid symptoms to see if anyone had these...which they of course do!). You sound exactly like me. I'm not normally an anxious person at all, but my health anxiety around covid seems to occupy my mind every day and has got worse in the last month or so. For me the anxiety isn't really about me having it, it is more about me giving it to other people, particularly vulnerable family members that I live with. It's very draining.

Yes I have had this feeling really badly. It was complete affecting my ability to make rational decisions. It went on too long so I’ve been to the docs
who have helped me with some anti anxiety meds. It’s not ideal but I need to get through this with my sanity. It’s definitely helped. I’m not feeling sick/anxious every time someone coughs & I can think more rationally. Hope you feel better soon.

I’ve been like this every time I’m due to see someone. Less so now I’ve been back at work since September but when we were allowed overnight stays in the summer I felt like I was coming down with something every time.
I managed to overcome it by reasoning that even if I’d had it on one occasion I wouldn’t have it on subsequent ones!
