Dd waiting for test had a cold (sore throat, sneezing) but now coughing. Do I need to collect other dd from school (she leaves earlier - had gone before we realised how much dd was coughing)?

Yes, when a household member has symptoms then everyone needs to isolate until there is a negative result or 14 days elapsed.

Yes. Fraid so.

Yeah, the guidelines are pretty clear on this. One person in the house has symptoms then everyone must stay in the house 24/7 until a negative test or isolation ends.

So did you order the test after your other child went to school? Yes, you need to get her home and all isolate until results

Zem74 · 24/11/2020 10:02

Yep I had to do this yesterday and now we are all isolating waiting for little ones results x

I was in this situation, called the school and they insisted no need Confused so he stayed. Luckily the test came back negative.

Yes

I called school, after some umming and ahing they said she should probably come home, but she would stay in lessons till I got there Hmm. It’s very clear on the .gov pages that you need to isolate if a household member has symptoms - but nothing about how quickly you are expected to go home.
