"Covid doesn't care that it's Christmas"

The personification of ‘the virus’ is so annoying. In fact, even the phrase ‘the virus’ irritates me now. See also ‘we’re in a pandemic!’ Aaargh!

Agree.

Nicola Sturgeon is really bad for this and constantly says things like "the virus wants to" , "the virus likes nothing more than" or "the virus doesn't care that".

No it fecking doesn't. Because it's a VIRUS. It's back to treating us all like children who need a child-friendly explanation for something scary.

Seriouslymole · 24/11/2020 10:35

Exceedingly irritating, I agree.

Jrobhatch29 · 24/11/2020 11:05

Totally agree, drives me mad. Infact any phrase that starts with "Covid doesn't care / doesn't know...." is infuriating

Jrobhatch29 · 24/11/2020 12:06

I would also like to add "Just because you Can do x, y, z it doesn't mean you SHOULD"

'Covid' isn't going to take a week off.

Just watched Good Morning Britain this morning.

Piers and Susanna must have said variations of 'Covid doesn't care that it's Christmas' at least 50 times this morning.

I'm so glad that someone else is irrationally annoyed by the phrase "the virus".

I mean there are quite a few of them.

At the start of lockdown, our local wannabe poet had a brief flash of Facebook fame as his Covid poem was shared on local groups. "This terrible virus" was repeated quite a few times throughout. It made me want to gouge my eyes out.
