Panic setting in has she just got period troubles

Teen said she started feeling sicky about a hour ago but hasn't been sick and looks pale. She started her period this morning but has no other symptoms just feels pain down below and sicky
I done the stupid thing of looking up if its connected to covid and of course I'm now panicked by some things on Google saying yes
Please put a mums mind at ease by telling me is it just period trouble or possible what ever she has ate?

You need to calm down and get her a test of you feel it's warranted. Even if it is covid, the odds are overwhelming that she will be perfectly fine.

I often feel as sick as a pig when I first get my period, so I'd put it down to that.
It would be very unusual indeed to have feeling sick as the only and main symptom of a respiratory virus.
Stay away from Google! Smile

I know I need to chill its just a worry cause she's not got any other symptoms other than the usual period symptoms plus feeling sicky
And I know there was 2 cases in school but she wasn't a close contact etc
Plus I cant get a test unless she shows signs of a temp etc ive already looked that up
Its more to put my mind at ease with us being in close contact

@BaronessBomburst

She's been fine up till the back of 10 there saying she felt she wanted to be sick but couldn't and does look a little pale and asked her every question related to normal covid symptoms and nothing just her normal pain and feeling a tad nauseous

I'm trying to tell my self its period related or possibly what ever she has eaten or a bit of acid (sometime i get a sicky stomach with acid ) i just had that thought in my head could it be related to covid and looked it up never should of done that lol

Can you give her a ginger biscuit to nibble?
Or a salty cracker?
She might feel about better then.

Livelovelife35 · 24/11/2020 00:08

Just checked her there says she feels a tab better sicky wise just sore down below ( I used to get the same pain for a few days ) will keep her off school just as a precaution cause if she still looks pale tomorrow ill most likely get a call to come get her
Just what with all this going on your mind goes awol and you worry

Even if she has it OP, she’ll almost certainly be fine. Kids & teens are not getting particularly ill with Covid, thankgod! Most are asymptomatic!

Paracetamol, ginger or peppermint tea and a hot water bottle. It'll most likely be her period and if it's not then she'll almost certainly be fine.

Chill

dhisreadingmypostsagain · 24/11/2020 00:42

Hot water bottle and if you get get some iron rich foods in, spinach and steaks for me every month without fail I get cravings.

food is the best medicine, ginger tea is great as well as peppermint and lots of lovely pukka mixed teas out now.

I'd maybe get some well woman supplements for her if she's pale as well just an all round boost to her system.

In fact I'd be straight on the Holland and Barrett website!

Period pains can make you feel sick. Hope she's better soon.
