I'm in Newcastle
Any ideas what we might find ourselves in ?

Personally I can’t see any big city being anything less than Tier 3 to start with based on what Boris said about more areas going into the highest tier. They won’t want people going back on the piss in large numbers again. Depends where you are I suppose.

Spied · 23/11/2020 18:44

I'm thinking 3 and I think it needs to be.

InTheLongGrass · 23/11/2020 19:03

I'm fairly sure Teesside will be 3, but you guys might just get into 2. You are doing better than us in terms of falling numbers.

Coasterfan · 23/11/2020 20:01

My mum is in Newcastle, she thinks tier 3. She’s not a policy maker or anything kind, just what she thinks. I think most of England will be tier 3 initially.

Coasterfan · 23/11/2020 20:01

*anything of the kind. She is very kind 😀

Fuckityfucksake · 23/11/2020 20:06

I'm not far from you and I think maybe 2
Who knows at this point. It's as clear as mud.

PetronellaOsgood · 23/11/2020 20:07

I’m in Newcastle and I can’t see how we can be anything other than 3.
I think most places will be to be honest.
I work in non essential retail so will be expecting a pre Christmas rush Confused

harryhhh · 23/11/2020 20:17

I feel for you. It will be madness and I hope once we're back open that they'll put the same, if not tougher rules in place for customer numbers, like when we first opened back up in June.
Supermarkets appeared to have forgotten about covid and started allowing full shops again (and still are)
I'm non essential retail but don't sell things haha so Christmas makes no difference.
That said we haven't officially been given any news about if we can open or not. We swing from the retail sector to Hospitality when it suits so I'm still not sure.

SadieSue29 · 23/11/2020 20:36

I'm Teesside and definitely feel we will be in tier 3, although I know very few people who have had it or currently have it.

MaryShelley1818 · 23/11/2020 20:55

Tier 2 - very hopefully. We were Tier 2 last time and numbers are continuing to decline.
I'm County Durham.

greyinganddecaying · 23/11/2020 20:59

How do they work it out? Is it clear criteria eg over 300/100000 cases? Or a bit more subjective?

TheGreatWave · 23/11/2020 21:35

County Durham - Tier 2
Tees Valley - Tier 3

That's my predictions -

I am pretty much planning to have done all my shopping by next week - the shops will just be rammed.

harryhhh · 23/11/2020 22:50

Bit of a stupid question but I have a friend in Hartlepool and I'm Newcastle
So it friend was in tier 3 and me tier 2 does that mean we couldn't meet for a meal if we met in tier 2 area and are in same bubble ?

It's just working in it that's that problem

Gateshead here hoping for 2 as there seems to be a downward trend but think might be 3. Mainly sad about Christmas stuff not being on but that's minor really I'll cope and can still see Fenwick's window!

Bridecilla · 23/11/2020 23:31

Sunderland here but work in Newcastle. Hoping for Tier 3.
