Anyone had COVID without any of main three symptoms?

I have something now that feels like a virus. I gave aching skin, real lethargy and some tummy ache, temp is 37.5 . The lethargy is quite debilitating. I've slept quite a bit but half an hour after waking feel as if I need to sleep again. I have no reason to think it's COVID but just can't help but ask myself. I can't legitimately ask for a test
I know I'm probably being daft. Can someone tell me what you think please?

I don’t know the answer but I do know that many people with covid (on here mostly) have reported extreme lethargy. I’d be isolating and getting tested if possible.

Isn't a fever one of the main 3 symptoms?

wonderstuff · 23/11/2020 15:34

I personally would claim you've had a temp ad get a test. My experience was (and I've not had a test because it was in March but I'm sure I had it). 2 days searing headaches, 1 day absolutely fine, a few hours of temperature, sick once, several days of aching, no appetite and serious fatigue, didn't get out of bed except to visit bathroom for 7 days.

Headaches are the most common symptom, but all the symptoms you list are linked to COVID. The 3 main ones apparently capture 95% of symptomatic cases - so 1 in 20 people don't have those 3.

When I went to a hospital appointment there were about half a dozen symptoms listed that they didn't want you to attend if you have.

At dc school we're being told to test with some of those symptoms as they keep cropping up as first signs. The council have told us to tick the requested by la box.
It could be a virus or could be covid.

I was like this for 3-4 days before I got a brief temperature of 38.3° but after paracetamol the temperature went back to normal but prompted me to get tested, no cough.
Positive result. Lost taste and smell after about 3-4 days of testing positive.

I have had headaches too.
I think 37.5 is too low to count as a fever.
Thank you for your replies. I'll discuss with my partner and will probably get a test.

I'd get a test to be honest, my MiL has similar symptoms to start inc headache and tested positive.

LindaEllen · 23/11/2020 16:19

When I had it, all I had was the odd cough - all of my other symptoms weren't listed.

Given that you have a temperature, I would be tempted to get a test.

I've ordered one but feel like a guilty fraud straight away.

I had lethargy, exhaustion and aching limbs as my only symptoms but didn't get a swab and carried on going to work. This was early in May. My antibody test in June was positive

wonderstuff · 23/11/2020 17:36

I wouldn't feel guilty, I really think getting a test is the right thing to do.

Does anyone know if the tests are delivered by Royal Mail? I'm wondering if there's any chance of it coming today after the post has come.

superstar84 · 24/11/2020 12:36

Mine came from Royal Mail and was collected by yodel

Itmaybeus · 24/11/2020 13:11

Mine came from amazon turned up day after I ordered it (a day earlier than specified). Returned via royal mail (although you can only post in certain post boxes).

My grandma had no symptoms other than feeling a little lethargic, not even enough to stop her doing anything, just enough for her to notice maybe she was feeling a little run down. She was tested at work where they do weekly tests and was positive. So it is certainly possible that's what you have, I wouldn't feel guilty about testing if you are worried.
Hope whatever you have passed quickly. Flowers

Lindy2 · 24/11/2020 13:29

I think you are justified in getting a test. You clearly have a virus and it would definitely be sensible to know if that virus is Covid or not.

You have had a fever. Not a particularly high one but that plus the other symptoms mean it is possible you have it and you need to know whether you should isolate.

I know some will go on about not having any of the exact 3 main symptoms but really I think common sense and caution should prevail and you get tested.

onlyconnect · 24/11/2020 13:31

Thank you. Everyone has been really helpful.

Get a test - that's what they are there for! You don't feel right and are concerned it could be covid, so you need a test. Take care and hope you get well soon.

Frazzled2207 · 24/11/2020 14:30

don't feel bad I think your test was justified. Fingers crossed you get your result soon.
