How soon did your smell/taste return?

I keep reading that some people lose their sense of taste for weeks, which is really worrying. I'm struggling to eat as although I'm hungry, it's hard to eat with no flavour. Reassurance needed that it will get better!

Sending solidarity.

My taste and smell only disappeared on Thurs eve and it already feels like a lifetime.

Following with interest. Thanks

So mine went 11 days ago and it started to come back 2 days ago I would say. It’s still not 100% but really strong smells and tastes are back (for example garlic bread). I was very very fortunate that most of my symptoms were mild but the days were long because I didn’t look forward to eating anything!

It's so weird isn't it? I want to eat, and I'm hungry, but then it's so disappointing. I'm craving crunchy things to try and get texture instead. Life is so bland without flavour

My daughter and I both had covid, but only she lost her taste and smell. It took her a month to get it back, and at 6 weeks on it's still not 100%, but it's getting there. Eating was very hard for her, and trying often made her feel sick due to not testing anything. Poor thing, she was quite miserable.

2 weeks for me

I am over 3 weeks on and no sign of either returning at all. I must admit, out of all the symptoms, this one bothers me the least. And I love my food!

I tested positive beginning of October. Never lost my taste, but still no sense of smell at all.
