Just got off the phone from talking to my parents. My dad is on his seventies, diabetic and has had 2 major heart surgeries. My mum is also overweight and diabetic. They’ve been reading the daily fail. They know think that the covid figures are a mass conspiracy because of the article that criticised Chris Whitty’s projected death figures and “there haven’t even been half the amount of deaths” and “people aren’t really dying of covid they had other conditions”. This means according to them that they will ignore any further lockdowns because it’s infringing their rights and it’s all fake news.

Any attempt by me to try to rationalise why a Conservative government would actively tank the economy without good reason, or explain that because of lockdown the deaths projected haven’t happened, or that the people who died with covid may have had a few more decades alive if they hadn’t caught it have fallen on deaf ears.

So bloody annoyed right now with them and irresponsible journalism Angry

Of course if they do expose themselves they are prime candidates for severe covid due to their poor health Sad

It’s fucking disgusting.
IMO The Fail are very calculatedly encouraging their generally older vulnerable readers to be complacent about Covid, I can only assume because someone’s losing millions due to lockdowns.
