Looking for advice from anyone who has tested positive

Hi all,

My parents (late 60s) have both tested positive this week. My mum has no symptoms, but my dad is definitely suffering. He had got the cough, chills, temperature on and off, headache and now some vomiting. He is on day 9 since symptoms started now.

I just wanted to check how normal all of this is and if there are any signs that I should ensure they seek further medical attention. I've read advice online but I know many people have shared their experiences of Covid on here. I thought it would be useful to check how common all these things are and when I should get more concerned. I am obviously worried about their ages. He has had no issues breathing but reported a tight chest a couple of times. Thank you for any advice!

I think as long as their breathing does not deteriorate and they are able to keep up their fluid intake, then I think it should pass.

Thank you! It is a very worrying time. My mum contacted a doctor today who also said to just keep an eye on his breathing.

It is normal with this disease to feel breathless, it's just when they are struggling to breathe e.g can't speak in sentences, using stomach muscles that's when to worry. Hopefully passed day 9, they should be out of the danger and on the road to recovery.
