If the class bubble burst did your child get covid?

Just curious (and very anxious) as one of my DC class bubble has burst. He has been in close contact with the child who tested positive.
Isolating for 14 days, but just wondered how long it would be after contact when he was likely to show symptoms?

No. All 3 of mine have been sent home to self isolate since September and they have all been fine.

I don’t know of any locally that have. Hopefully it will be the same for your DC’s bubble.

None of the bubbles that burst in our school passed it on from the positive child (who brought it in to school from a parent in all cases).

DD1 is on her 4th isolation with no symptoms. DD2 also had an isolation with no symptoms.

Dd sits at the next table to the child who tested positive in her class (so next to each other but slightly separated) and she did not develop symptoms and neither did anyone else in her class.

They are year 6 though so possibly better at social distance than younger children.

I think 5-7 days is the most 'common' point where symptoms would appear.

Nope, just a delighted child not having to go in to school

Our class bubble of 30 children burst and only 1 other child caught it (I know as we have a class facebook group with all parents on)

Ds1 is currently 10 days into isolating after a positive case in his preschool class. I had him tested as he had a fever a couple of days after the contact but it must have been a cold as he was negative and has been fine since.

Not quite the same but I tested positive for covid at the beginning of half term, ds dd and oh didnt contract it even living in the same house, ds us now isolating for 14 days as his bubble has a positive case

Yes DD was sat behind a positive student. Took 3-5 days for symptoms to appear from when she started isolation.
10 days later
DD2 has developed a cough and DH was coughing on Saturday. Waiting on test results.

No my DS didn't show any symptoms.

No, mine came down with another virus so had a test which was negative. No child in the bubble got it.

DS is 9 and in Yr 5, nobody else got it although the child who sat next to the positive cases Dad did subsequently get it, I'm not sure if it was related and we'll probably never know.

At my DCs schoolthey have had 4 instances of some pupils having to isolate but as far as I'm aware none have resulted in any further cases. But other than that being of interest to that school it can't be extrapolated to any other schools so sorry, not of any help to you at all

I think we all know by now that there's no standard experience when it comes to covid so all you can do is wait and see.

I am a teacher and had close contact with one of the people who tested positive. I’m absolutely fine and coming to the end of the isolation period. No one else in our bubble has tested positive either.

What do you mean by bubble burst? Do it just mean someone in the class got covid?
Two people got it in dd’s y11 but nobody caught it from them as far as anyone knows. Obviously we don’t really know because there might be asymptomatic cases.

Are people testing kids though? They have different symptoms, and mostly no symptoms, so unlikely we'll ever know the true numbers.

DD1’s teacher tested positive so the class bubble burst. I know of at least 8 kids from the class who were tested in the isolation period including DD as they all had coughs, and all were negative (just a cold going round). It’s possible that some of the others weren’t tested, had Covid and were asymptomatic, but if it was rife in the class you’d have expected at least 1 of the 8 tested to be positive.

Reception child - back in school on Wednesday. Not had any symptoms. Class zoom calls are full so doesn't look like many if any have been affected. We couldn't even work out who the original poorly child was as everyone has been well enough to attend most of them...
