Did anyone have a test on the morning and get results back by the end of the day?

Had my test at 9.30am and the person said the samples are taken twice a day to the place that checks them (100 miles away)

Just wonder if anyone got results the same day.

I have read maybe 35788 of the 1354654867 other threads about how long test results take to come back and I can confidently tell you that it will take between a few hours and never

@satnighttakeaway

Oh a few hours hey, great.

Huge apologies to you for coming on a coronavirus specific chat forum and asking a question.
Who do I think I am these days?
I should have known to read 1375482 threads for the answer.
Crazy cat that I am.

We have had this a couple of times but our test centre is basically next door to the lab (Glasgow Airport).so suspect a twice daily pick up would be slower.

Mindymomo · 16/11/2020 17:15

You may get an email overnight as recent threads seem to suggest these come through earlier than a text.

superking · 16/11/2020 17:16

Back in September I was tested at 11.30am and got the results at 3.30am the next day.

No need to read all the ohers, the one started just a few hours before yours in this topic asking pretty much the same queston would have worked just as well.

Thank you so much for your replies. Helpful.

@satnighttakeaway why is it you frequent chat forums if you can’t deal with someone innocently asking a question?
I how you are ok and it’s not an underlying cry for help that you are sad.
Have a good day.

I had a test at 10.30 am and received the results by email at 10.00pm that day. This was in May.

legalseagull · 16/11/2020 17:49

Careful OP - didn't you know you're only allowed to post completely original questions?! Big and important people might waste 3 seconds of their lives reading it.

I've got toddlers who are wracking up tests. It's averaged 28 hours ish

OpheliasCrayon · 16/11/2020 17:52

Yes but that was in August. I got one back in 25 hours in Oct though

firesong · 16/11/2020 18:04

No. But last week I had a test at 11am and got results in the night, woke up to them.

firesong · 16/11/2020 18:05

I also had a test with no results ever (home test)

Another one took 36 hours.

LavenderBee · 17/11/2020 04:42

legalseagull · 17/11/2020 09:32

cathyandclare · 17/11/2020 09:34

Yes, but in the summer my last one was around 60 hours

FireEngineGirl · 17/11/2020 09:35

West London, test done at 9.30am yesterday morning. Results came in overnight at 3.30am.

OverTheRubicon · 17/11/2020 09:36

4 days for us in London.

booboo24 · 17/11/2020 10:46

Just had a test at 9.30 am for random symptoms (none of the big 3) as was asked to by the Zoe app so will be interesting to hear how quick some are coming back. In July mine was 22 hours, then my daughter had a rest in September, hers took 24 hours
