Am I allowed to go to Sainsbury's?

Started feeling unwell on 30th October.
Tested positive for CV on 2nd November.

I've not left the house since. It has been a rough couple of weeks, I've lost my sense of taste and smell, was exhausted and had a nasty cough. Lots of brain fog.

Most symptoms have subsided but I've got a residual cough and sometimes have coughing fits.

I've been ordering food with Deliveroo but our local shops are crap, plus the delivery fees... I just want to wander around the shop and buy more things than I can reasonably carry.

My NHS app says that I've been allowed to go outside since 7th November, but when I looked online the advice was to continue to self-isolate if you continue to have symptoms... but God knows when I'll stop coughing.

Surely I can't still be contagious?

I think the official line is that you can go out after your 10-day isolation as long as you don't have a fever.

if you just have a cough now then go. You might have the cough for weeks.

Yes, the Gov website specifically says you're okay as long as all other symptoms have stopped.

I've tested positive and the official message says to continue isolation if you have a fever, but otherwise you're fine.

Mine ends on Tuesday and I'll need to go to the shop, although slightly worried about funny looks if I still have a slight cough!

You’ll have a cough for weeks. Go out and enjoy yourself !
