What is your hospital like.

Today I went for my mammogram and couldn't believe how busy the hospital was. Car park was full,
left husband to drive around until I came out.
Cafe open, shop open, toilets open. The heart clinic is across from the breast unit and that was busy.
The breast unit had 8 people in the waiting room where normally it holds 14.
Outpatients only had 1 seat empty between each person.
Corridors were busy.
I don't know about the wards as they were in a different direction.
I was very surprised have you been to hospital what was yours like.

I’ve been to two different ones in the past week (under the same trust though as they stupidly - IMO - have stopped couriers going from one site to the other and meant i had to go to another buildings antenatal department)

The main one I went to - Leeds General Infirmary - seemed to be pretty quiet but the entrance closest to the antenatal department is where most of the paediatric clinic and departments are so might have been due to that.
The other one - St James’, Leeds - was absolutely rammed. Not only were the corridors busy but all of the shops inside had queues and didn’t look to be adhering to social distancing inside at all

Took my OH for his monthly infusion yesterday (cancer treatment). The Unit was absolutely deserted apart from staff, empty corridors, etc. Before covid, there were usually around 10-12 people in the treatment room, yesterday, OH said there were only 2 patients and 6 staff. Apparently, cancer treatment has been stopped again for the lockdown for anyone the consultants think can wait. When he tried to book his December treatment, they said they were booked solid, so it's been delayed until January!
