Is anyone just holding onto the Christmas break?

Just that really.
In a very stressful new role at work. There's a CV outbreak in DF carehome, although they're handling it so well and he's quite well atm. I'm sleeping so bloody badly.
Roll on Crimbo when the money is earned and I can enjoy the break with DH.
Anyone else holding on to Xmas?

Nope don't care about Christmas I just want it over with so we can get our lives back

amusedtodeath1 · 12/11/2020 21:26

Yes, it's what I'm looking forward to and I'm very much distressing myself planning it, but as it gets closer I'm starting to worry what I'll focus on when it's over.

Distracting not distressing.. stupid autocorrect Angry

Me! I'm worn down and burned out from months of relentless, mostly cv-related workload. I'm too tired to care who I can see or where I can go, I just want to pull the duvet over my head and not talk to anyone for a week.

SomelikeitHoth · 12/11/2020 22:53

No because Christmas will be like another half term but longer. Stuck inside with a lonely teenager if he can't see his friends

PaperMonster · 13/11/2020 09:23

Hell yes. My job’s stressful at the best of times. Combined with Covid and feeling unsafe in my workplace as well as being in a lot of pain, I am limping along for a relaxing two weeks off!

Abendintheriver · 13/11/2020 09:26

Yep, I don't care who I can or can't see at this point, two weeks off, fire on and lots of wine. It's about the only thing keeping me going some days.

Covidfears · 13/11/2020 09:30

I can’t wait for the children to be off school and to know that we aren’t in danger of them bringing it home for a few weeks. As a vulnerable family being forced to send them to school and risking them bringing it home is mental torture everyday.

I'm glad it's not just me. DF msg me yday saying he had breakfast in the dining room on his own. Everyone else was either in hospital, isolating or too scared to come out of their rooms! 🤷‍♀️ Roll on Crimbo. Hope we all get to relax / under the duvet / chilling / plenty of wine!

Yes! I was so.happy to make.it to half term without DD having to isolate and now just want to make it to the Christmas holidays. First confirmed case in school last week though so I'm on edge. I dread checking my phone each time a message from school appears.
