Anyone had it? Does this sound familiar?

Got into bed last night and not long after had horrific stomach pains, went to the toilet and had a really bad bout of diarrhoea and felt pretty ill with it. Now I've woken up achy with a really sore throat?

When I’m coming down with a big I get terrible pains in my stomach (as if I’ve eaten something really bad). Then the aches and pains start the war day.

Don’t know if it’s corona though. How are you feeling? Are you able to stay in bed - and is anyone there to bring you tea and plain toast?

YellowEllis · 06/11/2020 08:03

Nope DH already left for work so home with toddler all day! I'm feeling ok just not sure whether it's a treat it like Covid until confirmed it's not or whether because there's none of the three main symptoms that I won't be able to get a test anyway

Can you call your doctor surgery and ask for a phone consultation?

HelloDaisy · 07/11/2020 13:40

How are you feeling today?

Dh has had stomach pains and diarrhoea during the night. No other symptoms though so can’t get tested. Hoping it’s just a bug...

MissSmiley · 07/11/2020 13:42

My DH had diarrhoea after his positive test, I vomited the day I tested positive, felt dizzy and had very mild temperature the day before, I think you should get tested, order a postal one of you don't want to go out with the toddler

Remmy123 · 07/11/2020 13:57

My mum had it - felt wiped out abd very sick /funny tummy - no sore throat etc

Torvean32 · 07/11/2020 14:01

You could just have a stomach upset. I wouldnt call a dr after one episode.
Theres plenty of viruses at this time of year. Thankfully most are not Covid.
I wouldn't get checked unless you develop the main symptoms.

AliciaMayEmory · 07/11/2020 14:06

DH’s main symptom was an upset tummy. He had a bit of a headache one day, but tummy issues for 4-5 days. Sore throat and clearing his throat when on Teams meetings, and only coughed a bit on day 5. He tested when he started coughing and glad he did as it was positive. I’d had the same upset tummy the week before and a bit of a sore throat but didn’t test as they ask for the 3 main symptoms when booking.

Interestingly, I have the Zoe app on my phone and the week I had the upset tummy and sore throat they had sent me an email saying to get tested. I only found it after DH had tested as it had gone in my junk mail.

I’d get a test I’d you can.

AliciaMayEmory · 07/11/2020 14:06

*if you can

LolaLollypop · 07/11/2020 14:11

I had the exact same symptoms last month - didn’t get a test though as I didn’t have a cough, fever or loss of smell/taste. At the time I thought it was just another bug but after seeing so many people list diarrhoea/sore throat as their symptoms perhaps it could have been Covid?
Unfortunately I’d imagine thousands of people have it /have had it and will never know.

gingerwhingerwife · 07/11/2020 14:38

Yes. Same. Get a test.

CulturallyAppropriatedName · 07/11/2020 14:42

I couldn't test as it was back in March but I had loss of appetite, diarrhea, dizzy spells to begin with then sore throat/ peppery chest/ cough/ aches and pains kicked in. It finished up with 6 weeks of indigestion and about 3 months of feeling like I'd inhaled chili if anyone sprayed deodorant near me.

frankiefirstyear · 07/11/2020 14:43

You've described exactly how it started with my dad

YellowEllis · 07/11/2020 14:54

No more diarrhoea but thrown up a lot. Feel really shaky and weak today but not been sick since 7am! Have just laid in bed designing my kitchen all day but have just booked a test for half past. Popping in the car now. I've got a foul taste in my mouth so I doubt it's corona as I'd of lost that! But I get it better safe than sorry

Test done. Will update

MRex · 07/11/2020 16:04

Change of taste/smell is an official symptom. Hope you get well soon, whatever it is.

I think I've probably got a foul taste from being sick so much rather than corona. We'll see!

My mouth tasted like bile for a day before I eventually lost my sense of smell and I tested positive yesterday. I have had a really bad stomach too. No cough, no temp. Just a mild headcold at first.

miimblemomble · 08/11/2020 06:39

Sore throat and diarrhoea were my two biggest symptoms. Never had a fever or a cough, and didn’t lost taste / smell until a few days after my positive test.

YellowEllis · 09/11/2020 09:36

Think it was food poisoning as it passed so quickly and now I feel fine. Annoyed I went for a test now as the results still aren't back and dh and I have both had to miss work and my toddlers missed his first day with his childminder. Bugger Sad

gingerwhingerwife · 09/11/2020 13:03

I had the same symptoms as you. Took a test. Felt completely recovered by the time the positive result came back. You did right in testing.

Tangledtresses · 09/11/2020 13:07

Interesting I had all those symptoms the week before half term 😬

YellowEllis · 09/11/2020 13:19

Still nothing. I'm sure it'll be negative. Really need to go to the shop today so praying it comes back soon. Dh and toddler fine, we had lunch from a sandwich shop on Thursday and I had chicken and they didn't, I'm guessing it was food poisoning to be honest.

OP posts:
YellowEllis · 09/11/2020 18:14

Still nothing ffs! Looks like we're all missing work tomorrow too. No wonder people don't test when it takes so long to hear back and you are completely stuck whilst you wait. It really needs to go back to the 24hr turn around it was back in July.

RedRec · 09/11/2020 18:32

Test results can come in at any time, OP, so you might still get it today. Also check junk / spam email folder just in case. Good luck.
