My dad has tested positive - Care home

So found out my elderly dad and 5 others in his care home has tested positive. They all have dementia and and a range of health complications. Care home manage said none of them has symptoms, He said at first that they were asymptomatic but when I questioned what he meant they do not have symptoms yet. Am finding this a bit confusing, Am I right after reading that 80% of people display no symptoms at all?

This must be worrying. A friend’s grandmother, late 80’s has had a positive result. So have other residents. She tested positive around 10 days ago, and has been well.

My granddad tested positive nearly 3 weeks ago and he never showed any symptoms. I thought that covid would rip through him as he has angina, copd and he is diabetic. He also has mixed dementia. Yet he is completely fine and he has not been poorly with covid at all. He has still been eating like a horse.

My dad's test was 7 days ago, apparently he is fine physically but getting vary anxious because they are trying to confine him. He has advanced dementia so will not understand. Nor been able to see him since march. Furry lol eating like a horse. Blue glad your grandmother is doing well. Has anyone in her home had symptoms

I would assume the 80% is at the time of test, ie both asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic are included. But I understand from our nursing home that a lot of care homes are experiencing residents with a positive test but whose only symptoms are fatigue and loss of appetite.

My dad tested positive two weeks running in May, but but is fine.
