Blood test covid test? Surely it’s an antibody test?

Work says if anyone has systems of Covid doesn’t need to isolate just have one of their tests. Supposedly results come back in 15 minutes and all it need is a tiny prick of blood.

A colleague is having systems but in work - her test comes back negative. I’ve tried googling it but can’t find anything online. I’m not sure if I’m being an idiot but it makes me feel uncomfortable

It could be testing for IgM antibodies which appear rapidly upon infection and disappear within about a month.

Sounds like they are going against Government advice.

Yes someone I know works for Ocado and they are all tested weekly. It’s a pin prick (taken by another member of staff who’s had some minor training) and you get the results in 10-15 mins. I asked about it at hospital during a recent medical I was having and the nurse (when she had finished laughing) said there’s no way it can be accurate for detecting covid and they must have money to burn
