It’s Tuesday and still not updated guidance on CEV

We still don’t know if we send our children to school, the social media Shielding groups are full of employees saying employers are saying they have to go to work unless they have a letter which we don’t even know when is being sent. Some companies are saying to still go as shielding has bent reimplement even though the speech made it clear they should not go to work.
Today is the most stressed I have felt 🙈

I thought they aren't sending out letters this time & the advice was to work from home & if you can't do that, don't go to work. Not terribly helpful...

Confuseeeeed25 · 03/11/2020 12:02

No they said they are sending letters out not because with new advice.
Yes he did say that but companies are not accepting it without letters. Nothing yet about CEV children and school which is my issue.

I am waiting too , as my children are vulnerable as am I and extremely upset as how the school is treating it like everything is hunky dory. We are also having cases at my sons senior school and my daughters infant school. It's my right to keep them home. I keep checking the government rules and guidlines and hoping it will be reviewed asap so we know where we stand

StarCat2020 · 03/11/2020 16:50

On the Government website it says that they will write to people who are CEV "while the new restrictions are in place".

To be honest seems to be a little late to be useful to most people.

I can't think what you could do though other than call your GP for advice.

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 03/11/2020 17:14

Still not updated and it still says you may be entitled to SSP but they have not confirmed if they are definitely paying SSP this time.

Shall I'll just go into work on Thursday as normal then as I can't afford to stop off if they're not paying SSP?

I can't really afford to stop off on SSP either but that's a whole new rant.

Redlocks28 · 03/11/2020 17:16

Is there supposed to be new guidance out on this today?

beckypv · 03/11/2020 18:12

I think that nearly all children have been removed from the CEV list (formerly shielding). It seems that most research indicates children are generally not badly effected by this.

FourTeaFallOut · 03/11/2020 18:16

I didn't realise that there was going to be another round of letters. Do we know if they got around to "smart shielding" or if they are going to ask the same people again?

Someone posted this draft document on another thread. There is mention of vulnerable but no distinction between CV and CEV.

beckypv · 03/11/2020 18:23

This letter went out today and also implies nearly all children have been removed

www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2020/03/C0830-i-gp-update-update-clinically-extremely-vulnerable-2nov.pdf

This is a report on children admissions in the uk:
www.bmj.com/content/bmj/370/bmj.m3249.full.pdf

Hopefully these may be of some reassurance. My son was on the original shielding list but I assume will be removed as evidence has shown he is at no greater risk

FourTeaFallOut · 03/11/2020 18:27

Grin I'm on page one, slow reader, anyway, incase you were hoping to avoid these restrictions by living in the stratosphere, they have locked that loophole down.
