Anyone tested positive with a change in taste?

Hi,

Has anyone tested positive due to a strange salty taste in their mouth? Phoned Drs this morning thinking it was oral thrush however I’ve been advised to get Covid test. Frustrating as just had one a few weeks ago (negAtive) for cough and sinus symptoms. Has anyone tested positive with this symptom?

Yes. That was the trigger for the test and it was positive.

Thanks for your response. My mouth tastes like saltwater. Nothing seems to help. Really hoping it’s negative though and self isolating with kids and wfh So sick of Covid.

I’ve noticed a funny taste in my mouth the last couple of days. But only when I drink plain water

I think it’s oral thrush tbh as I’ve got white patches on cheeks but my drs want me to get a Covid test first. So frustrating.

Yes my first symptom was a metallic taste in mouth

Watching with interest. My asthma has worsened this week and although I can taste my food it's lost is edge (sounds ridiculous I know). I've been really tired too.

My husband lost his taste and smell completely- he couldn't detect any kind of sensation at all. To test this, I fed him a chip covered in vinegar (which he cannot stand, it makes him retch) and he genuinely had no idea. 2 days later and he got a positive result.
He's fine now- it has started to come back which he is surprised and delighted about.

Yes both of us lost taste and mine started with a weird taste in my mouth then it didn’t taste of anything
