I just need clarification because this bit I feel is not clear

Just you and one other person. I agree that part isn’t clear but it does say somewhere else in the document that it’s just you and 1 other.

It says YOU (as in a single person you) can meet either;
A) your household
B) your support bubble
C) one other person.

Not all 3 at once.

Just you and one other person. Think about it like this, the rules say you can meet with one other person. So your one other person is your mum. Your mums one other person is you, so she can’t meet you and your kids at the same time as it would be more than one other person for her.

You and your children are a household. You can join up with one other person.

Two single parent households can still form a support bubble.

Unless you are in a support bubble with your mum (in which case the whole bubbles can meet) it's just you and your mum. Both parties needs to abide by by the one person rule - if your mum meets you and your children she is meeting more than one person.

Does it have to be a consistent nominated named person? Or can it vary? I'm not trying to find loopholes just wondered.

My mum lives with my dad , and I have a DP so I guess I can't see her.

My MIL looks after our kids one day each week, which is apparently allowed. So does that mean she can look after the kids but we can’t go for a walk with her outside? That just makes NO sense.

You could leave your kids with your DP and have a walk with your mum by yourself

Read on the BBC last night that children under school age weren't counted in this scenario- haven't double checked gov.uk though!

They have updated it to say under school age children don't count. Which is great as I have a 1 year old, so can at least meet my dad at the park with her.

Where did you find the guidance about support bubbles for mental health please? I can only find things that say they are for single adult households.

@TheFormerPorpentinaScamanderq there aren’t support bubbles for mental health. Care for a vulnerable person is allowed though. But a large proportion of the population has mental health issues especially now so there is no specific bubble for it. I wish there was I could really do with some help.

@Racoonworld that's what I thought. My brother is trying to persuade my mum to close my support bubble with her and have one with him and his wife instead as they both have depression.
I have anxiety and depression (and am a single parent) so I know how hard it is at the moment. But they don't really qualify for a bubble. I suspect however that he will 'win'. He always does. :(

@TheFormerPorpentinaScamander sorry that sounds so hard for you. He isn’t allowed a support bubble, no. I hope you get to keep yours. Another thing for you to mention would be that bubbles aren’t supposed to be changed, so your mum shouldn’t be swapping bubbles now anyway.
