I'm in London. Definitely sounds like a lot of people + music (thankfully not too loud atm).

Not sure what the rules are exactly (maybe it's just a very noisy 6) and I don't know where I could report it even if I was so inclined.

What would you do?

Nothing.

vodkaredbullgirl · 30/10/2020 19:52

Do nothing or go and join them.

SebastianTheCrab · 30/10/2020 19:53

Ok fair enough. As I said, I'm not particularly inclined to I just find it surprising given the current situation

I'd report it. Yes you might not be popular but it's not just about being loud it's about the impact on the wider community.

Velvetpeel · 30/10/2020 20:05

Aren’t you banned from having others in the house in London, so even if it’s 6 that’s against the law?!

Torvean32 · 30/10/2020 20:12

I'd report it.we will never get out of lockdown if ppl do this.

ComtesseDeSpair · 30/10/2020 21:06

I thought the police had made it clear they aren’t going to come out for anything other than clearly large, organised gatherings because they don’t have the capacity to deal with neighbour tittle tattle or people trying to get their disliked relatives into trouble or because so often it just turns out to be a group of housemates?

Report of you like but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

SebastianTheCrab · 30/10/2020 21:12

That's what I thought. It's why my toddler hasn't been allowed to go to any play dates - even with kids in his class bubble - and has been cooped up indoors for days on end.

Sounds like they're having a right old shindig up there though.

Clearly one rule for some and another rule for others Angry

I’d ignore it. I’m not a snitch and never will be. I’d prefer police to catch real criminals not ppl having a few mates round for an evening.

Ignoringequally · 30/10/2020 21:18

For years police in London haven’t had time or resource to attend assaults/burglaries/various other serious crimes. When my cousin was broken into and assaulted by the intruder they came 2 days later.
I’d be seriously fucked off to be honest if they all of a sudden found the resource to attend a gathering.

lovelemoncurd · 30/10/2020 21:23

I know someone who knew one of the London bombers and knew he had bought bomb making material in Leeds. He wasn't a snitch either. Look how that turned out!

Mum2jenny · 30/10/2020 21:26

lovelemoncurd slightly different scenario though.

Yeah, exactly the same.
Bluntness100 · 30/10/2020 21:38

So they could be six and totally compliant? You have no idea?

Eve if more I’d not report but you’ll find some folks are the sort to.

Bluntness100 · 30/10/2020 21:39

Yeah, exactly the same

You both knew folks who knew London bombers and had bought stuff to make bombs? Wow.

Ignoringequally · 30/10/2020 21:43

I was being sarcastic about the situation in the OP and the one about the London bomber being exactly the same.
Velvetpeel · 30/10/2020 21:44

@Bluntness100 but they can’t mix indoors in London so even if under 6 it’s against the law

historyrocks · 30/10/2020 21:45

I don’t think that was the point of the post—that you can’t compare the two.

Is it a law?

Hilarious. Just as we enter another national lockdown with more job losses precisely because of people not giving a toss.
