An international team of scientists that has been tracking the virus through its genetic mutations described the extraordinary spread of the variant, called 20A.EU1

This now accounts for 80% of cases in the UK. In the Financial Times (attached).

I really think that having these economically and socially devastating lockdowns for months, then following it up with a summer of tourism, was one of the most foolish moves made by European countries.

ah... Emma Hodcroft. I am not a fan of this person.
Very speculative poorly informed report she wrote about British person with CoV.
in contrast to a proper epi report about same chain of contacts and cases.

Maybe Hodcroft knows what she's doing with genomics. I sure hope so. My gut feeling is pure suspicion. See what survives peer review.
