Good morning! Just that really. I've tried to Google but can't find anything. My city's numbers are really high now and are rising. What will trigger a tier 3 lockdown?

People not sticking to the guidelines and doing whatever they want.

Yes, but statistically speaking, what data tips it over?

Hospital admissions maybe?
Cases in schools?

You are looking for something that doesn't exist. The government is making it up as they go along, there is no specific trigger point. They will probably discuss & agree with your local authorities what the specifics will be, but it will be a negotiation.

Makes sense. We're well into the 3000s cases now, over 200 per 100,000 if I recall correctly.

I love the idea that there's an actual criteria. There's no plan, no strategy. It's entirely made-up as the government goes along, a half-arsed compromise between the scientists wanting us all to hide under the bed for the next five years and the need to avoid coming out of this as an economic, social and cultural wasteland.

I guess I'm asking what triggered the other tier 3 lockdowns.
