Covid tests taken at same time but only one result back- bad sign?

Me, DH and both kids Covid tested at a drive through site on Sunday afternoon (north London if relevant).

DH receives negative result at 9pm last night so about 30hours after test taken.

Still waiting on results for me, DD and DS.

Is this normal?

Or a sign that they’ve messed them up and ours are lost or something.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Pretty normal i would say.

No completely normal, I would say pay peanuts, you get monkeys, but we are paying golden nuggets and still getting monkeys.

We called to check. They say it’s nothing to worry about but not to call back as they won’t be able to “log any problem” unless we’ve been waiting for 5 days Hmm

Normal. Me, ex p and both DS's got tested same time. They got their results back after 2 days. Mine took 5!

The “efficiency” of the system doesn’t exactly incentivise people to do the right thing, does it?

OH and I got tested together. My result came back in 27 hours, his took 8 days! Both negative

Pl242 · 27/10/2020 18:15

8 days!!! How did that happen?!

Normal. They don’t get tested consecutively one by one by a single person. They’ve just been split up for tested.

SparkyTheCat · 27/10/2020 18:28

Not necessarily, ours came back 3 days apart - both negative.

Pl242 · 27/10/2020 18:41

Thanks all. I suppose that makes sense. Just we had friends who also got tested as a family and all their results came in on one text message. I could cope with them coming in separately if they met the 48 hour target time. Spending first 2 days of half term cooped up with a 4 and 2yo and just dreading it taking much longer.

The four of us took tests two weeks ago. One took 2 days for results, 2 took 3 days, one took 4. All negative. I think the system is overwhelmed.
