Rule of 6 I don't understand

Can't get a straight answer anywhere, so in my household is me, my partner, and our 5 children. Can we go out for a meal together?! We want to go to lunch tomorrow but I just thought... can we?

Yes I think so

Yes, the rule of 6 doesn't apply to households. If your household is more than 6, then you're fine.

BeyondMyWits · 26/10/2020 11:30

Yes, but you may have to explain when you book as many places have put the 6 limit on bookings, and have set up socially distanced tables for 6 etc. You may find some cannot accommodate your party.

Ok thank you!

Yes, a household larger than six is one of the exemptions from the rule.

@BeyondMyWits that's fine we only want to go spoons lol, just get out for a bit! They don't take bookings so hopefully will be fine!

It is an exemption but definitely explain and call directly to book rather than booking online as most places are set up in tables to accommodate 6 at the moment so it may take some moving round and some might not be prepared to do that unfortunately.
