My dad died.

Just that really . He died Thursday, of covid . He went into hospital on the 6th October for an unrelated problem . He caught covid Monday and died Thursday morning. We weren't able to be by his side in his last few hours .
I am beyond angry .

My mum has been "end of life" for weeks in hospital now. Inc a week unconscious with no fluids but has improved dramatically the last week. But the longer she's in the more likely it is she'll catch Covid. Visiting is very limited and not allowed every day Inc some days when they thought she might die any minute.

The being unable to visit must have made a terrible situation 100x worse.

Oh how awful. I’m so sorry for you all.

I’m so so sorry. This is my biggest fear. That my dad or mum will catch Covid and die well before their time. My mums only 54 and dad is 60 and I hate living with this fear.

May I ask his age, and what he went into hospital for? Why were you not allowed to be with him?

Late 60's , bladder problems, no communication from the hospital

He was just a lovely man, right now it's hard to put into words , I'm trying to remember the good memories with him .

I have friends dealing with the same circumstances and one of my parents died suddenly - it is overwhelming and I experienced physical shock from it. Nothing made sense.

It's been 7 years and I've only just started counselling- it is helping.

I lost my mum very suddenly almost 5 weeks ago, I'm almost glad she dropped dead at home as we were able to be with her body afterwards (my dad and sister were with her when she died)

I can't imagine how I'd be navigating this awful grief if she'd been in hospital.

Covid has taken so much from so many.

All you can do is put one foot in front of another and do the basics (eat, drink, rest)

Sadly Corona-Fucking-Virus makes funerals and being together as a family difficult but do what you have to do. If you need to be with loved ones, be with them.
