BIL wants to stay at our house night before potential trip to Spain

And then again on his return. He lives in Liverpool so in a Tier 3 area. He’s planning to get a train down south to us in Surrey and then fly out from Heathrow. Then he is planning on staying at ours overnight on his return before getting the train back to Liverpool.

He’s absolutely barking!!!!

You currently have to quarantine for 2 weeks on return from Spain. How does he think he’s going to be allowed to travel on a train back from ours to Liverpool??! Is he even allowed to travel internationally if he lives in a Tier 3 area?!

Hmm, yeah I wouldn’t have him at mine, that’s for sure.

As for travel home, I think he’s allowed to get home by however means and then isolate. Mad, I know.

Tell him to book a hotel.

The fact he's in a tier 3 area and asking, shows he isn't taking the restrictions seriously, so I wouldn't want him in my house as he's not even being careful.

He's allowed to travel but strongly advised not to. Tier 3 also advises against overnight stays out of the area. Under quarantine he is breaking the law if he doesn't travel straight home to self isolate.

It will deffo be a no from us but I was just wondering if he would even be able to do it! I asked DH why he’s not flying from Liverpool or Manchester and apparently it’s cos EasyJet are not flying from there anymore.

He hasn’t booked anything and is thinking of doing in a months time. We will probs all be in lockdown by then so I’m doubtful it’ll happen! 🥴🤦‍♀️

He’s probs desperate to get away from a tier 3 lockdown around, understandably. But I wouldn’t host him in my house on returning from Spain.

No he’s not allowed to, he has to follow T3 rules at your so he can’t come in your house. He also needs to go straight home to isolate after returning from Spain so again can’t stay at yours.
