My dad went into hospital on the 6th October. He didnt have covid .

He has parkinsons hes had parkinsons ( for 18 years) and other underlying health conditions. So he was in a room on his own .

Today he has developed a cough and a temperature and tested positive for covid-19 .

I'm so angry . How has this happened !?

I'm trying not to think the worse .

I dont know what to do 😪 .

Sending love and prayers for your dadThanks My dad has Parkinsons too, so I can imagine how frightened you are x

((((Hug)))))

I don't think there's anything you can do, except tell someone in real life & get a proper hug.

Try to stay positive. Lots of older people with underlying issues do pull through and treatment is much better now than it was earlier in the year.

I'll be thinking of you & your Dad

This is a real problem that doesn’t seem to be addressed in the media at all. A couple of weeks ago as cases were starting to increase quickly again, I saw a breakdown that said 25% of all transmission was happening in hospitals. So people like your father in hospital for other reasons.

It’s hard to know how it’s happened, the nurses I know are very diligent with hand-washing and PPE, but it is highly infectious. They are unlikely to be able to pin-point exactly how/when it’s happened but I do think this is quite common and needs some more work doing to understand how it’s transmitted.

I really hope your father will make a good recovery, thinking of you Flowers
