New regulations?

Getting conflicting information and am so confused.

In my personal life I have in close contact with a positive case so I am now self isolating. No symptoms and feel fine. I wasn't contacted by tracing ... The person let me know they tested positive and I rang my GP who said to isolate for 14 days. Gp said only get tested if symptoms develop.

I work in a children's nursery so no such thing as ppe or social distancing. I thought I was doing the right thing isolating.

However my boss has told me there are new regulations, and directed me to go get tested today, she said I would have results in 24hrs, and back to work in 48 hrs if test is negative and I no symptoms.

Initially I couldn't get a test booked as I've no symptoms but boss insisted (really sternly insisted) so I booked a test online by saying I've symptoms.

I've just had the test this afternoon at a drive through test centre. They results in 3 days

Does anyone know or can give me a link about the new regulations my boss is talking about?

I'm more than happy to be in work as I'm fine but just worried if what she is saying is not correct we would be breaking rules?

Just tell her you've taken advice from the GP and you cannot break your isolation certificate.

She's short staffed AND short sighted. Y
If you have it, you're at risk of closing down her business fully

Your boss is an ass. You could develp symptoms in up to 14 days. You doing a test is pointless. You may take it to your work, give it to colleagues and children.
Dont go to work and email your boss the government advice.

Thank you so much everyone for your comments and advice. I was so confused earlier and feeling very panicky. Feel much better armed now when talking to her again on Monday.
