Can DH come into hospital with me?

Not been to a hospital in yonks, definitely not this year, hence my asking.

I have to go for some tests tomorrow that may take some time. Can DH come in to the hospital or is he destined to be stuck in the car watching YouTube?

May be hospital dependent, but at our local one he would not be allowed in.

Our hospitals and doctors surgeries are saying no. Only the person to be treated should attend, unless they need someone to care for them e.g. to translate or push their wheelchair.

No, not in any of the hospitals in my area.

Unlikely I'm afraid but check your hospital - info should be on website.

I don't think he will be allowed in. My DM ended up in hospital on Sunday and had to get lots of tests done. She said no-one was allowed anyone with them. Even a very frail elderly woman who was helped in by a relative had to be left alone once she was settled. Tell your DH to bring a book and find a cafe.

My local, small-ish, hospital has a security guard on the door who tells you only patients are allowed in. Also to take a fresh mask even if you’re wearing one Smile

In my hospital people can wait in the cafe or seating area in the foyer.

Thanks all. I'll tell him to stock up on snacks and films!
