Tier 2: can we have a tutor at home for a face to face lesson?

As education and work seem exempt from the no mixing of household rule, I assume my cleaner and my tutor can still come?

Yep otherwise they wouldn't have jobs.

Being researching the same and come to the conclusion of yes since “work” exempt and they don’t seem to suggest that some work covered and other work not so I assume if you pay it’s allowed.

@RedMarauder Even the tutor? They might claim they can do online lessons but it's much less efficient than face to face especially with young children

I'm a tutor and I would find it almost impossible to tutor online.

Firstly, none of my resources are made for online leaning (and I have hundreds stored in 20+ lever arch folders that would all need changing across 3 different key stage groups for online provision - no happening!).

Secondly, the reason my parents/students come to me is because they need the personal 1:1 tuition that they just can't get at school. The personal touch that doesn't exist online.

For those two reasons alone, I'd agree that online tuition is much less effective that face-to-face.

Thirdly, because I've endeavoured to make my tutoring space Covid-secure, and all my parents (or students over the age of 18) read and sign my Covid risk assessment and waiver if they are happy to go ahead. I've tried to adapt my at-home learning to be as safe as is reasonably possible, as I'm sure all home-based private tutors have.

We're a lot safer than schools are!

So far, no problem - but I am never complacent.

Good question OP, presumably it's like any work in the home...can we have people in to plumbing, other maintenance or decoration etc. From what people say it sounds like maybe we can.
