Is our government too distracted by Brexit?

Is that why they're so ineffective, seemingly lazy and incompetent?

Is their focus just in the wrong place?

I think it's just who they are. They really couldn't run a whelk stall.

But they weren't elected to be competent were they ?

AlexaShutUp · 14/10/2020 10:30

Unfortunately, they have to be distracted by Brexit, as the consequences of not getting a deal with the EU will be disastrous. But yes, it is a huge distraction that is not at all helpful in the midst of a pandemic.

AlexaShutUp · 14/10/2020 10:31

And no, Boris was never going to be competent or effective anyway. I assume that people must have known this when they voted for him.

ExpectBetter · 14/10/2020 11:09

Apparently the billions of pounds needed to 'deliver' Brexit has had to be taken from other areas, and apparently pandemic planning and preparation was one of those areas.

CokeEnStock · 14/10/2020 11:11

It's a total cluster fuck

QueenBlueberries · 14/10/2020 11:13

You know, that perfect storm movie? That's it.

Government are shit at both Covid and Brexit. When things go badly, they'll blame Covid for things hitting the fan with Brexit and vice versa.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 14/10/2020 11:21

Too distracted by Brexit to deal with Covid and too distracted by Covid to deal with Brexit.

Convenient.

raviolidreaming · 14/10/2020 12:34

Let's not forget that Johnson hid in a fridge to avoid questions. What did anyone expect?

tobee · 14/10/2020 23:31

Yes. And also shit and bouncers.

tobee · 14/10/2020 23:31

*Yes and also shit and bounders

No, they're just incompetent. Whatever your political persuasion, their handling of the situation has been woeful. We need a strategy and swift, effective decision making. We get the exact opposite.

BigChocFrenzy · 15/10/2020 01:12

They've thoroughly buggered up both Covid and Brexit

Who could have guessed that "ineffective, seemingly lazy and incompetent" would matter when running a country ? 🤦🏻‍♀️

tava63 · 15/10/2020 01:15

The leader sets the tone ....

lovelemoncurd · 15/10/2020 01:18

Who honestly thought Boris and his cronies were competent to begin with? It's always amazed me that people actually thought he was and voted for him!
