Anyone confirmed with Covid and had stomach pain only?

Just that really, awaiting a test result for DD who has typical cold / flu symptoms. I sent her postal test back Thursday and are still awaiting the result.
Since Saturday I’ve had horrible stomach ache and lots of indigestion and burping.
I’ve also had some chest tightness, feeling like my bra is too tight. Apart from that o feel absolutely normal.
Wish DD’s result would hurry up as then at least I’d know if I’ve been exposed to anything.
Anyone with just a bad tummy? It’s horrible, really aching and makes me feel a bit sick.

Stomach upset - cramps, indigestion, heartburn, burping, occasionally diarrhoea- were my main symptom. Headache, sore throat and slight chest heaviness as well. But your timing fits with catching it from your DD unf.

I’ve got a bad stomach ache too as has ds and his friend. I was sick last night but thought it was something I had eaten but his friend has just been sick too.

Fingers crossed it’s just a bug....

Spottydoggy · 13/10/2020 21:34

Well DD’s Covid result came back negative last night so I doubt it’s that for me as I don’t go anywhere to have caught it really, I WFH.

I’m still having stomach ache, feel nauseous, my stomach is bubbling and I’m burping loads. No diarrhoea but I’ve been to the loo loads today.

It’s slightly improved with Rennie’s but it’s always in the background. I’ve no idea what it is, gastritis maybe 🤷‍♀️

That’s a relief for you all, and me as perhaps mine is just a bug or gastritis too! I have health anxiety since peri menopause started so this is not a good year for that!

Sorry you are feeling ill though I hope it improves soon. Ds said that his stomach has been hurting for last day or so but certainly better today so fingers crossed it will clear up soon.

HelloDaisy · 13/10/2020 21:42

I also wfh and we are hardly going out as dh is vulnerable/shielding so apart from dc at school or meeting friends for a walk we have been at home.

Spottydoggy · 13/10/2020 22:19

Peri menopause you say...well I’m also slap bang in the middle of that with insomnia, anxiety, aches and pains plus what I believe may be GERD. Last month I had dizzy spells, woolly head, sinus issues etc.

Please don’t say this is another peri symptom!

How you feel better too - I know exactly what you say about health anxiety and Covid, I’m checking for signs all the time and many of the symptoms sound like peri anyway!

Oh yes, I have all those symptoms! I have had 2 tests for Covid so far but both were negative and I think the symptoms were peri menopause related. I think stomach issues are a feature of it....

I find the anxiety is the worst one as it makes all the other symptoms worse in my head.

TheSeedsOfADream · 14/10/2020 06:50

This could be me...in Italy in an area with very few cases, WFH and am naturally anti social and suddenly monstrous gastric issues. Am also menopausal.
I've had helicobacter pylori in the past and the symptoms are similar. Full of gas, up and down, feels worse when stomach is empty. Constant gurgling. Trapped wind last night would have had me thinking I was having a heart attack if it had been the other side. My GP prodded me on Monday and said no organ feels untoward.
I'm taking panteprazole and lots of peppermint oil capsules for now.
I didn't realise Covid had stomach symptoms Blush

TheSeedsOfADream · 14/10/2020 06:50

Agree about the anxiety. Suddenly every twinge is a harbinger of doom.

Spottydoggy · 14/10/2020 07:47

My stomach also feel worse when empty, and the gas!! As you say, constant gurgling, belching constantly. I took a spoon of bicarbonate of soda in water last night which did seem to help.
If this is menopause / peri then I may have a while to go with this. I’m 47 and periods still like clockwork 🤯

Yes, I got up for the Italian equivalent of am Alka seltzer.

HelloDaisy · 14/10/2020 13:16

I thought I was having a heart attack a few days ago too! Only I know it’s not as went through that a couple of years ago and saw cardiologist in the end who was the first one to say she thought it was peri related. I will try some rennie and see if that helps.

I am 52 and periods still like clockwork albeit only 3 weeks apart now and much shorter....

TheSeedsOfADream · 14/10/2020 17:10

Adds insult to injury doesn't it? Not only do we become barren Shock we sit and burp and fart all night as well.

LolaLollypop · 14/10/2020 17:49

There is definitely a stomach bug going around. I had it last week along with a runny nose / cold symptoms. It can’t after DD had her flu jab so maybe that’s one of the symptoms this year for “normal” flu! I’ve never had such a funny tummy alongside a cold though, it was almost like food poisoning but I’d eaten nothing remotely dodgy.
