Do we need to isolate today or can we go out?

DM came down with symptoms on the 28/9. She rang me early afternoon and told me. We are her support bubble and we'd be in contact with her over the weekend so we needed to isolate. Fine. I picked DS up from school and we have isolated so far.

DM had a test but it came back inconclusive and she couldn't get another one as it was outside the 5 day window meaning we've all got to isolate for 14 days.

I am slightly confused about if we need to isolate today. Is Monday 28th day 1 in which case DS can go to school today. Or do we need to isolate for a full 14 days in which case he can go back tomorrow?

Anyone know? The only example I've found is when coming in from abroad which says day 1 starts the day after you get back meaning we would still be isolating today.

I'd say for 14 days since your last contact with her.

It’s 14 days from your contact with her. So assuming you haven’t seen her since that weekend, your isolation is over.

As far as I’m aware, the date of contact counts as day 1.
