2020 birthday celebrations - go all out or not?

What is your opinion on 2020 birthdays?

Do you go all out to make them extra special where possible as the years been so crap

Or do you just reign it in and decide to give it another go next year?

I can't do much to make it extra special, maybe two balloons up rather than one I guess.

Oh I've taken the day off work, so there's that to look forward to.

How would you go all out without breaking restrictions?

I was supposed to be at a live music gig for my birthday but obviously that cant happen now.

I mean basic things like making a cake , maybe a few balloons and having a special birthday brunch or tea

Maybe a few extra gifts than normal

In lieu of being able to go out properly to celebrate

My 2020 birthday was prior to lockdown, but due to illness then lockdown I've finally had my present from DM. Not had chance to make the practical arrangements for DH's present.

My 2021 birthday is a big one and falls nicely on a Saturday. What a waste. The way things are, I can't see much hope of making sociable plans or possibly not being legal to sort out babysitting.

I cant eat cake and ive got a phobia of balloons.
So no i won't be going all out.
Going all out would be having my family together and seeing my friends.
I cant do either of those things.
Some sponge wouldnt make up for that even if i wasn't allergic to it.
Its shit.
I really need my friends right now.
