Does your phone covid app send you a weekly notification of how many times it scans?

Mine doesn't but a friend who has a Samsung hers does.

So this notification pops up once a week and she can click on it and there's lots of dates and times with numbers by it but we can't make head or tail of what the numbers mean. Once she closes it down it's gone for ever, so she can't go back in her app to find the same info/screen.

Yes today mine had a notification saying i had a covid contact and then i can see numbers and data of the times its scanned and how many people I've been in contact with. I dont understand it

Yes, it's very unclear. Also some of the numbers just don't add up. So at 7am when she's in the house, more than 2m from anyone and it says 17 contacts.

No I haven’t had anything through.

kimlo · 09/10/2020 20:12

you can find them again, it's under google in settings.

The number of contacts confused me too for the same reason but I found an article explaining it, it's the number of app users that have reported a positive case. It will then say how many of those you have matched with. I'll try and find the article.

Do iPhones have anything like this? I had a look at exposure checks or something but it doesn't make any sense to me

kimlo · 09/10/2020 20:25

I've looked I can't find it again, admittedly I haven't looked very hard.

They are called keys. Your phone changes it's key every quarter of an hour and thats the number of keys that have reported a positive test result. I haven't matched with any of them, so haven't been near them.

Theres been a couple of times I have matched, but not been close enough to count as a close contact.

Nope I don't have this, I'm on Android (Google pixel)

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 09/10/2020 20:41

I had this notification, i have a samsung, then when I went into the app later I couldn't find it again.

Thank you to kimlo for saying how to access it again.

When I click into my 131 exposure checks, theres a list of times and then nothing next to them, does this mean I haven't been in contact with any positive cases, would I see a number or a tick or something else alongside these dates/times

It's part of Android not the NHS app

kimlo · 09/10/2020 20:47

thats when it's found a match. Then you get a push notification saying you have been near a positive case. But so long as your circle is green rather than red telling you to self isolate then it's probably someone you had fleeting contact with such as walking past them. Long enough for the phones to recognise each other and swap keys. but not long enough to worry about.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 09/10/2020 20:51

Sorry cross posted, will look at that now, thanks
