Dd had a sore throat from sunday night, she now has that plus stomach pain, a constant cough, feeling shivery, couldn't really taste her lunch today and sneezing a lot. Her test will be here tomorrow. Hopefully results will be quick.
Does this mean I have to cancel all my work until we get a result? Not working means no bills getting paid and no food. I hate that people are put in this position. If it comes back negative I will have lost money for nothing. If I comes back positive I believe there's a grant available but in the meantime, what do I do?

I think you know the answer already, but yes you must isolate. You should be back working on monday if it's negative.

It's a shit position to be in but you must isolate until the results are in.

I'm absolutely gutted. It can't be helped though. The most important thing is that she's ok and we don't get too unwell with it.

I hope its negative and she feels better soon.

How is she OP?

Realitea · 09/10/2020 17:06

She's coughing a lot but happy enough. She has had watery eyes, sneezing, blocked nose, etc. When I tried to do the throat swab I noticed one tonsil had a white patch on it so I think it's that. She's now on antibiotics but the nurse said you don't usually get a cough with tonsillitis so we're still isolating until we get the results. Hopefully it won't take forever!

One of the people I work for is really pressuring me to 'just go in anyway' it's really annoying! (I won't obviously!)

Hope the results come in soon. How annoying you are waiting so long, we all got tested 2 weeks ago and got results the next day.
I guess it depends where you live.
