Headaches/sore throats from mask wearing?

Arabiannightss · 04/10/2020 19:21

I’m a key worker and have to wear a mask for around 7 hours a day (with a 20 min break) but I am finding I’m getting headaches & my throat is a bit sore.
I’m drinking plenty, I usually have at least 500ml in the morning before I start and then a litre or 2 during the day.
Not Covid positive as member of family had symptoms a few days ago so we all got tested and all results negative.

Im exactly the same, I've started putting boiled sweets in my pocket and suck them during the day which helps my throat a little bit but nothing helps my headaches

Not to mention the sore ears ☹️

@Carrotgirl87 I had the sore ears until I started to use one of those facemask adjusters. Been fine since then.

Keyworker here and wearing them all day. I made a crochet band with buttons to hook the ear loops over. You can buy them online or just use some ribbon/ material and sew some buttons on. Saved my ears for sure!

Ears are fine thankfully although I have a sore band across my forehead from the visor

The sore throat yes. I bought some aniseed twists to suck on while wearing one, not all day just shopping gives me a sore throat. Worried me the first couple of times but the following morning I am fine.

I get a sore throat.

I think I get dehydrated too because I feel like I shouldn’t take it off to drink if other people are around, whereas normally I’d have a bottle of water or a cup of coffee on the go.
