Tearing my hair out - positive test and others questioning isolation

A member of my dh's family has tested positive and were in contact with a whole string of people. Their parents are now panicking saying there's no way they'll do it and 'what about if they just get a test now'
I explained how that won't work and to only test if they have symptoms. They want to know who they can speak to for advice as they won't listen to me.
Can anyone send me a link or a number I can then send them? I'm not confident track and trace will be quick enough. Does the positive family member have to call track and trace themselves?
They haven't downloaded the app either :(

119 or the government website should be able to answer their questions

Realitea · 04/10/2020 14:38

I thought 119 too. I'll tell dh to forward it to them

The .gov website will clearly set out what they need to do. They should start there.

Good luck OP, I can just imagine trying to have that conversation with some of my relatives and in-laws!

I know - it took everything I had in my to stay calm! haha

I think technically the test may well come back positive for contacts. There are political and scientific reasons for not testing contacts.
Keep cases low.
It probably doesnt work on day 1
Testing capacity.
Incubation as can take 14d and so you have to SI anyway.
