Can we share rooms with others?

Quick question- can I go away for a weekend and share a room with others outside my household? There will be 4 of us.

I don’t think it’s a good idea but the others are saying it’s fine and I don’t want to be the bad guy who cancels but can’t find the answer anywhere in guidelines?

You are supposed to maintain the 2m social distance rule with those outside your family home.

Could a hotel room accommodate that? I can't imagine it would.

We can't in Scotland. Only with own household or bubble

dementedpixie · 03/10/2020 15:26

Are you staying in the UK?

HelloDaisy · 03/10/2020 15:27

Yes it in the UK and we will be in a motor home.

In England I think you can have up to 6 indoors but socially distanced.

In Scotland its only 2 households so wouldn't be allowed
Also take into account local lockdown restrictions if there are any where you are going

dementedpixie · 03/10/2020 15:30

A motor home doesn't sound large enough to socially distance 4 of you

NotAKaren · 03/10/2020 15:32

Plenty kids still having sleepovers so I can't see why not

dementedpixie · 03/10/2020 15:33

They shouldn't be having sleepovers if they can't socially distance. I wouldn't allow my kids to host one or go to one

dementedpixie · 03/10/2020 15:34

Although I'm in Scotland in local lockdown so we can't even go indoors on a social visit

iskwobel · 03/10/2020 15:46

I hope you're not planning to go to Wales or Scotland as this will be illegal in both places and things like this give motorhomes a terrible reputation Sad

Msmcc1212 · 03/10/2020 16:30

Not in Wales.

It’s a bad idea anywhere though TBH.

HelloDaisy · 03/10/2020 21:11

We were planning on going hill walking in the middle of nowhere In England but I will cancel. I wasn’t happy about it but others made me feel as though I was being overly anxious.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts...

You're in very close quarters in a motor home, sharing facilities too. That's one trip I absolutely wouldn't go on; regardless of what the guidelines say, I wouldn't feel at all comfortable with it.

KitKatastrophe · 04/10/2020 04:03

You are supposed to social distance from everyone not in your household. So unless the motor home is absolutely enormous that will be impossible, and therefore not allowed.
