The government are simply not gaining from crashing the economy. It's just doesn't make sense.

They do however give lots of lucrative contracts to their mates who then perform badly.

It looks very shabby.

The implication is that they do not/ cannot manage things for the advantage of the country very well, but their backers/ cronies are still profiting.

To be fair, I think a lot of it is incompetence rather than a master plan to crash the economy.

Which contracts?

Maybe because they have shares in vaccine companies. Just a guess

He has shares because he used to work there

No government would screw an entire economy for personal gain.

On an individual level there are those who will make a quick buck, true of most politicians.

"He has shares because he used to work there".

Well the reason for having them doesn't negate the fact that he has them does it?

No but what's the problem?

@festiveivf Well if you had shares in something, you'd be very happy if the product of those shares sold well. It won't matter if the CV vaccine would be free for individuals. Health care providers would need to purchase them. Alot of people are in line to get very rich from this and could be seen as manipulating the opportunity.

herecomesthsun · 02/10/2020 18:47

Yes, there is a potential conflict of interest you see.

Some people prefer politicians and senior public figures to manifestly be people of integrity.

The bar is currently set very very low.

This lot however combine incompetence and lack of integrity to an astonishing degree.

Buffoons.
